Microsoft released the Hotfix 3 for App-V 5.1 a few hours ago, which is described as a “MDOP Hotfix Rollup”. The Hotfix addresses the following issues and brings App-V to Version 5.1.104.0:
- App-V crashes on Remote Desktop Services (RDS) when dynamic configuration causes a policy update.
- Custom configurations for existing entitlements are overwritten.
- Added ETW log to detect when file has incorrect “FILE_EXECUTE” permissions.
- App-V template for UE-V is missing registry keys.
The Hotfix can be found here: KB314445
Additionally, you can also manually request a Full-Installer, with HF3 embedded, at Microsoft. This will make new deployments a lot easier and faster without needing to install RTM first and apply the latest HF afterwards.

Hi! Do you recommend to install HF 1, 2 and 3 even if you’re not experience any problems? You need still to do a request to get the Hotfixes so the feeling i get is do not try fix anything that ain’t broken.. or?
Tanks for all great posts!
I usually install Hotfix on existing Systems only if I encounter a specific Problem that is fixed by this Hotfix. However, if I’m going to install a completely new environment I always install the latest Hotfixes. The Requests are normal, those are needed for any Hotfixes.
