The Hotfix Package 4 for App-V 5.1 was made available a few minutes ago, as June 2016 servicing release for Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack. The Hotfix can be downloaded here: KB3155806
The following Issues were fixed in HF4 for App-V 5.1:
- After you publish a new version of an application in a Connection Group, the application version is now displayed correctly on the App-V Server User Interface (UI).
- Fixes an issue that prevents some Java-based applications from starting.
- Adds support for Slovakian and Slovenian versions of the Supplemental Notice. The notice is displayed during the client/RDS servicing release installation.
- Removes the dependency on Visual C++ 2005 for installation.
- Fixes a Windows Explorer crash on a remote App-V 5.1 client when you are connected by using Remote Desktop Services. This issue occurs when you right-click File or Computer on the Start menu.
- Fixes the App-V server UI to link to the updated Microsoft Privacy Policy.
There will also be a full Installer available, which can be requested at Microsoft.
Hi Simon, thank you one more time for this post, really appreciate it.
Hotfix Package 4 for App-V 5.1 link seems to have only the x86 architecture available. does that mean whoever has built a x64 environment doesnt need to install it? Is there any x64 version available?
Thank you
Eden Oliveira
Hi Eden
I would go for the September 2016 servicing release, which is Hotfix Package 6 and the most current at the moment. You can download the HF here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3168628
Here you also find the x64 version for the Client.
Best Regards,
Simon
Hi Simon, thank you again for the clarification. Regarding those Hotfixes, I see that the Appv 5.1 is RTM version. Does it still applies to my 5.1 version? Does this RTM applies to any later Appv 5.1?.
Should I run it on the Management server or on the DB Server as well?
Thanks a lot again.

Hello, how can you tell what version/HF of the App-V 5.1 client you have installed? This is for windows 10 build 1607 and higher.
You don’t need to install it. The App-V and UE-V Client is integrated into the OS starting with Windows 10 1607 / Windows Server 2016. See: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-desktop-optimization-pack/appv-v5/app-v-51-supported-configurations#bkmk-client-supp-cfgs
