Microsoft has released the Hotfix Package 11 for App-V 5.1, which is titled “March 2018 Servicing Release for Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack”. This Hotfix pushes App-V to version 5.1.134.0 and can be downloaded here.
Based on the German Microsoft App-V Blog by Sebastian Gernert, this is the last Hotfix for App-V 5.1
The following Issues were fixed in HF11 for App-V 5.1:
- Addresses an issue in which the user’s hive data in the registry isn’t maintained correctly when some App-V packages belong to the connection group.
- Provides additional logging for administrators to take action, such as picking a correct configuration for their App-V package, when there are multiple configuration files for a single package.
- Addresses an issue in which the App-V service might crash in the RDS server that hosts lots of users.
- Addresses an issue about the App-V package folder access. Because this bug access control list isn’t handled correctly, you cannot publish applications.
More details can be found in the official Knowledge-Base Article.
Do you have any idea if there are/were supposed to be a Server and Sequencer versions of this?
The download page only has:
AppV5.1RTM_Client_KB4074878.exe
AppV5.1RTM_RDS_KB4074878.exe
whereas HF10 had:
AppV5.1RTM_Client_KB4041137.exe
AppV5.1RTM_RDS_KB4041137.exe
AppV5.1RTM_Sequencer_KB4041137.exe
AppV5.1RTM_Server_KB4041137.exe
Thanks
Not all Hotfixes are for all components (Client, Sequencer, Server). For example, the HF10 is the latest release for the App-V Server and Sequencer where HF11 is the latest Hotfix for the Client.
Thanks for clarifying this for us Simon
